Pretty Primer: Digging the Funky Fresco

I'm so into these bold wall prints--is it just me or are you seeing them everywhere? I'm especially entranced by the whimsical monochromatic landscapes that have popped up. The image at right was painted, not wallpaper, and it looks like the stuff of dreams. What has your experience been with stencils? With interior murals? I've got to say--it's quite tempting to want to try....
